helloandroid111.jpgIt is no secret that Google  wishes to acquire the Cellular Phone Marketplace with its GOOGLES ANDROIDS application.

Latest information shows that the sales of GOOGLES ANDROIDS based smart phones have taken over mobile phones with the Microsoft Windows platform.

Sales of mobile phones that use the Android application have stole about 10% of mobile devices sold worldwide.  And this just the results in the 1st quarter of this year.  We are aware that this is a giant increase on the 1.6 market share Google it enjoyed last year at this time.  Windows Mobile based  devices were not as popular by users in the same time frame.  In truth, Windows Mobile Phones product sales that had  accounted for 6.8 per cent of all handset sales in the same period are now  behind from 10.2 per cent in the first quarter of last year.

Moreover, earlier this month, the  analyst firm, NPD Group, reported that smart phones with the Googles Androids application accounted for 28 per cent of all smart phone sales in North America.  Now equate this to the Apple iPhone's 21 per cent market share.   In contrast, BlackBerry handsets made by Research in Motion (RIM), continue to dominate.  In fact, RIM enjoys 36% of the cell phone market in the US, in the 1st of 2010.

Googles Androids Phones are somewhat new on the mobile phone scene however they have been taking over like a whirlwind.  The figures shows that  handsets with  Googles Androids application are being bought at extraordinary rates.  Recall that the very initial Google Android supported handsets barely went on sale in October of 2008.  Since that date several other phone manufacturers have touted the Android platform, including such corporations as HTC, Motorola and Sony Ericson.  According to Google's chief executive, Eric Schmidt Android mobile phones are being shipped at a rate of 60,000 per day.

helloandroid.pngAnalyst Caroling Milanesi who is employed by Gartner believes that this upward  momentum is the unequivocal result of intensive marketing.  This marketing is visable when you go on-line.  It appears like each web page you visit that employs Google's Adsense, is running ads for mobile phones that have the Google  Android application.

It seems Google has the monopoly with online marketing in the world.  It has in a extremely short period branded the Google Android.  There seems little that its competitors can do to slow them down at this time.  We expect Googles Androids Phones to be a household name in 2010.

image3 Hacker and programmer David Wang has at last done it. He has hacked Apple's iPhone.  Wang has successfully booted the iphone with Google's Android.

This is quite an achievement: booting Google's Android operating system on Apple's iPhone

David Wang, full fledged member of the a group termed "The iPhone Development Team," which is devoted to hacking iPhones.  Just last week he posted a video demonstrating the Googles Androids on an iPhone.

The video reveals the booting process complete with the Tux Linux mascot.  Moreover it reveals David Wang using the Google Droid for browsing, getting a text message, answering a phone call and playing music. Wang has the iPhone set up with a dual-boot configuration.  You can see this as Wang begins the video with the iPhoine running on its OS.

image2 David Wang promptly admits that his hack is not production-quality at this point in time.  He states that the hack is still in its Alpha phase but he asserts that the whole thing works in terms of functionality.

David Wang's Googles Androids hack on the iPhone is quite a technical achievement  Some say it will not transform the industry nor the behavior of mainstream users.  The one noteable thing Wangs hack does reveal is that the iPhone can be hacked even with its grip on the source code.

David Wang remarks that he has been  working on his patch since 2008.  The video he utilizes to validate his successful hack is made with a first-generation iPhone.  However, new iPhones are also likely to be compromised by this hack.

David Wang claims that it ought to be simple to port forward to the iPhone 3G.  He readily admits that the 3GS will take additional effort however.  Wang's aspiration is to make the Google Droid a viable option or supplement for the iPhone and perhaps we can finally integrate Flash.

Notes:
5" screen tablet with 1GHz Snapdragon processor. Front facing camera. 5MP camera w/ dual flash

Manufacturer: Dell
Release date: Q2 2010
Android version: >1.6 -- Announced to be newer than 1.6 at launch
Carrier: AT&T

A couple of months back, Dell CEO Michael Dell casually pulled a new Android tablet out of his satchel and began to demo it for eager tech journalists. Dell’s got a history of nonchalantly debuting Dell Mini products this way — he handled the announcement of the Dell Mini 9 netbook in just the same way — sending the blogsophere into a frenzy of anticipation.

Of course, with January 27th’s announcement of the iPad, it was easy to forget five-inch Dell’s Mini 5, but some new promotional material coming out of Dell is a nice reminder of just who sleek Dell’s tablet is.

Sized somewhere between the iPod Touch and the iPad, the Dell Mini 5 features a 5-inch WVGA touchscreen capable of a maximum resolution of 800 x 480, as well as a five megapixel camera with autofocus and flash (take that, iPad!), capacitive touch front buttons, a front facing VGA camera for video conferencing (take that, again iPad!).

We knew all of that, but the new promotional materials make a couple of new details clear. For one, Design Studio will offer the Mini 5 in a slew of finishes, colors and hues. Second, the Dell Mini 5 might be released under the name “Streak,” which is certainly better than the Mini 5 nomenclature.

But the last detail is most interesting: it looks like Dell is partnering with Amazon to ship the Streak with the Kindle e-book reader app and support, out-of-the-box, Amazon MP3 and Amazon Video On Demand. Given how lackluster the Kindle looks after the iPad’s announcement, this could be just the stop-gap product Amazon needs to give them time to revamp the Kindle line.

Either way, the Streak looks great. Unfortunately, though, we just still don’t know when we can buy one, or for how much
